Historically, many of the world’s greatest scientist have also been religious. However, in modern day culture, it seems that the ideas of science and religion are often pitted against each other; two philosophical giants grappling.
Yet according to this news article by The Independent, it seems like modern day team ups are occurring more than ever, specifically around ancient Christian manuscripts and machine learning. Using text analysis and statistics, machine learning is being used for things such as stylometry and author verification, helping Christian scholars and others understand their important texts.
While this does not address the more philosophical propaganda that divides science and religion, to me, I see it as a glimmer of hope. Emerging tech already shapes the way we experience modern day life; maybe one day it will also reshape the public narrative between science and religion. Maybe it will help unify what is historically holistic.
